Technique development is almost always at the forefront of scientific advance. Technology platforms at the FMI focus on the development and optimization of critical technological tools needed to tackle the important questions raised by biomedical research. Platform scientists stay abreast of developments in the field and work closely with FMI group leaders to enhance the impact of FMI research in neurobiology, epigenetics and mechanisms of cancer. The FMI therefore maintains a wide range of central technical services that are continually updated to include the latest developments. The technology platforms available at the FMI include:

C. elegans facility
Cell sorting (FACS)
Computational Biology
Facility for Advanced Imaging and Microscopy
Functional genomics
Proteomics and protein analysis
