Freiburg-Hbf (Central station), then line 2 or 4  to Robert-Koch-Straße and then by foot: 5 minutes

By car

Motorway A5 Karlsruhe-Basel / Basel-Karlsruhe, gateway: „Freiburg Mitte” (Center) / Take B31 exit towards Uni-Kliniken/Sportzentrum W / Take a right at the 4th light to Breisacherstraße

By airplane

Approx. 1 hour bus ride from the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg or 2 to 3 hours by train or car from Frankfurt, Stuttgart or Zuerich airports.

The Bio Imaging Core Light Microscopy (BiMiC), located at the Institute for Disease Modeling and Targeted Medicine (IMITATE), is an open platform that enables researchers to perform leading-edge microscopy. The BiMic has a wide range of instruments and competent professionals available to assist research teams in all facets of optical imaging, from instruction to the development of analysis pipelines.

A variety of state-of-the-art microscopes are available for imaging live and fixed samples from patients as well as from a variety of model species, including Xenopus, Zebrafish, C. elegans, and Drosophila.

The Platform aims to promote optical imaging across the University of Freiburg Medical Faculty and plays a significant role in bench-to-patient back-and-forth research for cutting-edge treatments.
