The Life Imaging Center (LIC) hosts more than 15 microscope systems for about 150 individual users. Most advanced microscopy techniques are available at the LIC facility. The LIC has a significant focus on live cell imaging of all types of cells, organisms, and culture systems used in cell signalling research, developmental biology, plant physiology and neurobiology.
This 3-day advanced workshop will provide the best experience and high-quality teaching. It includes theoretical presentations and hands-on/practical sessions directly on the systems. The instruction will cover sophisticated imaging techniques and methods (e.g. Airyscan, Photomanipulation, large-area recordings) and image analysis of the acquired data using specialised software.
This workshop is dedicated to all researchers and research students who wish to learn how to acquire high-quality images properly, plan experiments accordingly, and analyse their data. Users can also bring their own samples and data during the workshop.
Attendance at the workshop is limited to LIC users or members of the University of Freiburg. Mandatory is a contract with the university (undergraduate students with HiWi contracts are also accepted). It is equally suited for life science undergraduate students, Ph.D. students, staff scientists, and postdoctoral researchers.
